Reiki is the life force energy that is within and around every living thing.  A reiki session is an energy healing technique in which a formally trained Reiki master uses gentle hand movements with the intention to guide the flow of healthy energy through the client's body to reduce stress and promote healing.

There are seven main energy centers (“chakras”) in the body.  When all of the chakras are balanced, energy flows freely throughout the body.  Sometimes, the chronic stress of everyday life can cause our chakras to become blocked.  When this occurs, the energy in the body does not flow freely and causes emotional, physical, and spiritual ailments.

Reiki healing sessions help to balance and reset a body’s energy to allow one to feel at peace and grounded.  This balance can allow the body to heal itself.  Reiki can help with issues such as depression, anxiety, headaches, insomnia, stress, and pain, as well as  post surgical recovery and anticipatory anxiety for upcoming medical visits or procedures.

A reiki session is performed while lying on a massage table, fully clothed, with shoes removed.   Sessions are 60 minutes long.  A discussion usually takes place before each session to discuss areas of concern and what your intentions for the session are.
